Check the agreed work together
Before the visit ends, check the repaired function and any other agreed tests. For an iPhone, relevant checks may include touch, display, charging, cameras, sound and buttons. For a laptop upgrade, check that it starts as agreed, recognises the new hardware and, if cloning was included, opens the agreed sample files. For a console expansion, check storage recognition and the agreed transfer or game test.
Keep your receipt and completed work record, including the part fitted, known limitations and anything we could not test. A handover signature records those checks; it does not remove rights over faults discovered later.
Looking after the device
Follow any part-specific care instructions given at handover and keep regular backups. Opening and resealing a phone does not promise its original water-resistance rating. Do not test water resistance by exposing it to water.
After a laptop drive upgrade, verify your important files and backups before agreeing to erase or dispose of an old drive. For a console, do not remove or format storage while it contains data you still need.
If a device develops unusual heat, swelling or another safety concern, stop using and charging it and seek appropriate help. Do not keep testing it to reproduce the fault.
The 30-day repair guarantee
For 30 calendar days from completion, defects in parts I supplied and my workmanship on the agreed repair are covered by a free guarantee. Contact me so I can arrange inspection and the appropriate remedy. A covered claim and necessary corrective travel are not charged. If repair or replacement cannot reasonably resolve a covered problem, an appropriate refund is provided.
Unrelated faults and damage caused later by impact, liquid, misuse or someone else’s work are not covered by this voluntary guarantee where they caused the problem. Another person opening the device does not automatically remove all your rights. If I accepted a customer-supplied part, the part itself is not covered by my parts guarantee, but I remain responsible for my fitting work.
Your statutory rights are additional and do not end after 30 days. Contact me after that period too if you believe a supplied part or my work was faulty. Read the full guarantee and terms.
Reporting a problem
Use WhatsApp, Messenger or the phone number below. Include:
- Your name, repair date and job reference, if available.
- The device model and the work that was done.
- What is happening, when it started and whether anything changed afterwards.
- A relevant photo or short video if safe and useful, with personal information hidden.
Never include passwords, recovery keys or unnecessary private files. I review the symptoms and agree the next step; sending a message does not automatically book a return visit. You do not need to diagnose the fault yourself.
A complaint or a refund query
Tell me clearly what happened and the outcome you are asking for. I aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and give a substantive response within ten working days, or explain the delay and next update date. Those targets do not postpone any legal remedy or refund deadline.
If unresolved, I explain my final position in writing and give information about a suitable available alternative-dispute-resolution provider and whether I am required or willing to participate. Independent advice and your right to use the courts remain available.
For a change-of-mind cancellation, use the cancellation policy and form. Faulty work or parts are handled through the applicable remedies rather than treated as a change-of-mind return.
